In my professional life I’m a heavy user of Excel spreadsheets and I consider myself to be a fairly advanced user of this spreadsheet. On the other hand I’m also very interested in free and opensource applications which I widely use in various aspects of my computer life.

Up-until recently I never considered using another spreadsheet program, but after a buying a new laptop for home-use I decided to start using OOo and to find out how far I could stretch the use of OOo in general and Calc in particular in home life and even seeing if I could consider using it in my professional life.

I will be adding articles related to my own spreadsheet use and if I find interesting Excel questions / problems around the web I will try to find if this issue can be addressed in Calc.

I am really curious what I will find out about Calc the coming period!
